Step 1   Do you think you know typical school subjects? Taka a look here and try to match those not so typical ones with the countries where they are taught.

 

 

Step 2  In order to find out how different education systems work in different countries and how successful they are,

watch the video below and read the overwievs of the ones in Poland, Germany, The USA, Malta, China, Finland or Australia.

Step 3  Now choose one country and list all the pros and cons of their education system. If you need to, read more about the system you have

chosen. Here's a PDF version of the pros and cons chart you can see below.  We will have a general discussion in class where you will

come up to the board put your choices there and try to explain them.

FINAL STEP: CREATE YOUR OWN EDUCATION SYSTEM BASED ON THE FOLLOWING CRITERIA

1. STRUCTURE ( STAGES OF EDUCATION/TYPES OF SCHOOLS AND THE AGES STUTENTS START AND FINISH EACH STAGE)

2. GRADING SYSTEM 

3. SUBJECTS FOR EACH LEVEL OF EDUCATION

4. NUMBER OF STUDENTS IN CLASS

5. EVALUATION SYSTEM ( WHAT KIND OF WORK WILL STUDENTS HAVE TO DO - TESTS, PROJECTS, HOMEWORK ETC.)

6. ORGANISATION OF THE SCHOOL YEAR ( NUMBER OF LESSONS, HOLIDAYS, BREAKS, ETC. )

 

ROLES:

1. PRESENTER - SOMEONE WHO WILL GIVE A SPEECH AND PRESENT THE PROJECT TO THE REST OF THE CLASS

2. WRITER - THE PERSON WITH SKILLS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE WRITTEN PART OF THE PROJECT

3. TECHNICAL SPECIALIST - WILL PREPARE THE VISUAL PART OF THE PRESENTATION USING VARIOUS TOOLS , WEBSITES AND APPLICATIONS.
